Carbon Ceramic Brake Disc, CCB is an ultra-high-performance brake disc made of C/SiC ceramic matrix composite material. It combines the toughness of carbon fiber with the high-temperature performance of ceramics. It has the advantages of light weight, high temperature resistance, stable braking performance, and long life. It is often used in high-end sports cars and electric vehicles such as F1 racing cars, Lamborghini, and Porsche. It can significantly reduce unsprung mass, improve control, and effectively reduce brake fade. However, its high manufacturing cost limits its popularity.
Main features and advantages
Disc Body – Made from gray cast iron, offering reliable wear resistance, vibration dampening, and thermal stability for consistent braking performance.
Hat – Constructed from high-strength steel, formed in a single stamping process using professional-grade tooling. Joint thickness is precisely controlled at 2.5mm, fully matching OEM specifications — no bolt replacement needed, direct fit to the original mounting system.
Mechanical Locking Structure – The hat and disc body are joined via a mechanical interlocking design, combined with precision manufacturing, delivering a solid and durable two-piece construction.
Connection Technology – Utilizes mechanical locking and fitting technology, leveraging material properties and precision structural design to achieve a long-lasting, stable connection between components.
Racing brake discs are the core component of high-performance braking systems. They are made of special materials (such as carbon ceramic or high-performance cast iron). They generate strong braking force through high-speed rotation and friction with brake pads. The key to their design lies in efficient heat dissipation and powder removal. They often have holes, markings (slots) or ventilation ducts to cope with extremely high temperatures (up to 1200°C) and high-intensity use, ensuring braking performance, sensitivity and durability under harsh track conditions.
